Readings, Signings and Such

May 30, 2008: This Monday

So I have this, like, manuscript due and well, starting on Monday, it's all I will be talking, thinking and writing about. Get ready for two months of nothing new.

May 22, 2008: The Re-Outline

Done with tweaking the original outline. I'm sure this version will go through changes, but the goal for now is to finish the manuscript (title: How Can I Tell You) get some notes and critiques and do a pre-polish polish before September 1. That's the plan, anyway.

More Than This is Las Comadres and Friends National Latino Book Club selection for September 2008. Check back for news on readings and other events.

What: In-store events @ Borders Books for Las Comadres Book Club

When: September 20, 2008 @ 11a.m.

Where: Riverside, CA

Why: Readings, q&a and signing in support of More Than This as the official September pick for Las Comadres Book Club.

May 20, 2008: More Future Plans

Jamie from the PR department at S&S has set up the first Border in-store event (see right). I'm also looking forward to getting my Book Expo America pass in the mail as, it occurred to me the other night, I'll be able to pick up books and more books to keep me busy for the summer. I'm also thinking about the speech/lecture (see right, again). I've narrowed down what I'm going to blah blah blah about, and I'm taking my sister's advice to practice before I preach since it'll make it a lot less painful for all of us.

May 08, 2008: Good For Fall

The news that MORE THAN THIS (Touchstone, August 2008) will be the September pick for Las Comadres Book Club has been making it the Internet rounds and I couldn't be more pleased. Actually, I'm more than pleased--I'm pretty darn excited.

May 06, 2008: Future Plans...

I actually have some. I'm thinking, not very hard, about MFA possibilities, gearing myself up for the submission of my literaryish novel, shifting the focus on Book 2, and gearing up to take on a YA project from start to finish. What I'm not planning on is taking a real vacation. I'd like one, but unless Jamie tells me there is one in my cards, I won't be holding my breath.
