Join authors Margo Candela, Mary Castillo, and Jamie Martinez Wood the day before Mother’s Day for a celebration of women and books on Saturday, May 10 from 2-6 pm at Gallery ChimMaya. This event is being organized in conjunction with Las Comadres Paras las Americas. Mary, Margo and Jamie will be selling* and signing, as well as reading from a selection of their novels.

In the main gallery, ChimMaya (5283 E. Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, 90022) will be showcasing its “La Mujer” exhibit featuring the works of established and emerging Latina and Latino artists. ChimMaya seeks to promote community awareness of the visual arts by offering a setting where the public can gather for the appreciation of the arts and culture. The gallery is adjacent to the retail store featuring one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture, handmade jewelry, and unique gift items. ChimMaya will also be providing light appetizers and wine.
About the Authors:
Margo Candela is the author Life Over Easy and Underneath It All. Her third novel, More Than This, will be released this August.
Mary Castillo is the author of Switchcraft. Her short story Till Death Do Us Part appears in the anthology Names I Call My Sister
Jamie Martinez Wood is the author of Rogelia’s House of Magic, out this June 2008, as well as the Latino Writers and Journalists: A to Z Latino Americans and The Wicca Cookbook: Recipes, Ritual and Lore. |
